Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has managed to supply additional 600 tons of cooking gas to some dozens of gas companies on Tuesday. This quantity of gas is expected to relieve consumer who have been reeling under shortage of cooking gas.

A report quoted Sawarmal Agrawal, president of Nepal LP Gas Industries Association as saying that the quantity of gas received on Tuesday would be sufficient to meet the demand for about a week.

According to NOC officials, the companies, such as Nepal, Baba, Sai Baba, HP, Himal, Sagar, Everest and Nobel gas, which received some 17 bullets full of gas on Monday, resumed their supply in the market from Tuesday.

Gas companies are also in the process of receiving additional 25 bullets full of gas. Those bullets have been brought into the country via Bhairahawa, after being stranded in Raxaul for about 2 weeks.

NOC also pumped out 108,000 liters of petrol in the 9 refilling stations assigned to distribute the widely used vehicular fuel in the Valley on Tuesday.

The government had decided to stop supply of the petroleum products to the private petrol pumps of the valley from Tuesday. After this decision, only nine petrol pumps of the valley operated by police, Nepal Army and Sajha (cooperative) have been distributing the fuels.
