The death toll in the Kapilvastu violence has reached to 13 as seven more dead bodies were found in Bisanpur VDC of the district this morning.
The deceased, who were found today have been identified as Hari Bahadur Basnet, Shova Ram Sunar, Jhabindra Khanal of Bisanpur and Mohit Bahadur magar of Shivagadhi VDC-3. Other dead bodies are yet to be identified.
The situation of 14 people is still unknown.
The violence had broken out in kapillvastu after the murder of a local political leader from Muslim community Mohit Khan on last Sunday in Chandrauta of Kapilvastu district.
According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), more than one thousand people have flocked across the boarder for safety and other one thousand locals have been displaced due the fear.
Meanwhile, local administration has lifted the curfew for the daytime from 7am to 6pm in the Kapilvastu municipality areas. Similarly, the curfew in Krishna Nagar has been released for 12 noon to 3 pm.
The local administration said that the curfew was relaxed after the situation started gradually improving. Kapilvastu and Krishnanagar are reeling under curfew since Sunday.
The violence in Kapilvastu saw torching of over 110 vehicles and 300 houses. In Chandrauta bazaar alone, 85 vehicles were torched whereas 16 others were torched in Krishnanagar.
