Nepal Government has decided to extend the tenure of United Nation Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) for six months. Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala  informed that the government would send a formal  letter to the United Nation coming week requesting to extend the tenure of UNMIN.

In a meet with UNMIN Chief Ian Martin, PM Koirala assured Martin to extend the tenure of UNMIN for the six months.

On the occasion Martin asked the PM to  fix the date of Constitutional Assembly polls at the earliest to reach the peace process to the conclusive result. However, he also alerted the PM that the current political impasse may derail the peace process.

In reference to Martin's query on the governments preparation to settle the ongoing irregularities throughout the country, PM Koirala informed the government is doing home works to make the congenial climate for the election.

Aditya Baral, the Adviser of PM on the foreign affairs informed that PM and Martin also discussed on the  other current issues.
