Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala who also holds defense portfolio has said Maoist militants should not be integrated in Nepal Army. He has suggested that the Maoist militants could be settled forming a new security force rather than integrating them in Nepali Army (NA).
Speaking to journalists at his official residence in Baluwatar Kathmandu today, PM Koirala said Maoist militants should not be integrated with Nepali Army. Supporting the similar remark of the Chief of the Army Staff General Rukmangud Katuwal which came on Monday, the PM said NA Chief's remark was not objectable.
Koirala said NA should not indulge in any color of politics. Integrating politically motivated cadres of a political party could spoil the culture and system of NA and might lead to further problems, he added.
Meanwhile, Koirala informed that the cabinet would announce the date of Constituent Assembly polls within this week.
