Nepal's proposal regarding poverty alleviation and energy in the 14th summit of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was fruitful, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said. He added this summit was able to deliver good image of Nepal among SAARC countries.

Talking to the media persons, upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport at 1.00 pm on Friday from New Delhi, Indian capital, PM Koirala informed that SAARC countries took Comprehensive Peace Accord and latest political affairs of Nepal in positive light with greater importance.

PM Koirala also said there was no any dilemma and reservation like in past summits this time. "The summit was held in fair and cordial manner" he said. PM Koirala had departed for India leading Nepali delegates last Sunday.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan who had also accompanied Koirala said the summit was productive for Nepal as it gained positive response from Nepal and Bhutan for the permanent solution of Bhutanese refugee problem. She also informed that Bhutan has invited Nepal for ministerial level talks in this regard.

During his visit to India this time around, PM Koirala had held meetings with Indian Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh apart from holding separate meetings with his other counterparts from participating nations.

Government ministers and high ranking officials had gathered at the Tribhuwan International Airport to welcome the PM.
