At a time when just two weeks are left for current fiscal year to go to an end, economists have said political deadlock could affect the budget of the fiscal year 2008/09.

Finance Ministry has already said its has done final preparation of the coming fiscal budget. However, experts speculate the delay in the formation of new government may put the budget into adverse influence as the budget is itself a political document.

Speaking at a function organized by Reporters' Club today, economic experts said the budget unveiled in haste could create problem in the implementation of the budget.

Maoist leader Janardan Sharma said the budget should curtail the general expenses and increase development expenses.

Finance secretary Rameshwar Prasad Khanal said the coming budget should be directed at overall economic stability instead of its size.
