Utilise enormous water resources : Minister Karki Biz News

Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, State Minister for Water resources, has said that the nation is facing load-shedding in absence proper utilisation huge water resources available in the country.

He was addressing to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nepal Electrical Association (NEA) Saturday.

He further said that after the restoration of democracy, big foreign investors have shown interest in big projects like Arun III, Budhigandaki, and transmission agreement have been done with India.

On the occasion, Surendra Bir Malakar, president of Nepal Chambers of Commerce (NCC) said that nation won't develop until and unless priorities can not be given to local products.

Ravindra Shrestha, president of employer's council of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) complained that industrialists and entrepreneurs are marred by industrial insecurity despite the restoration of democracy and peace.

Similarly, Gyanendra Lal Pradhan of Butwal Power Company (BPC) said industries will be shut down in the coming two years if 2000 MWs of power can not be generated. He also said that Nepal needs to export 4000 MWs of power to balance the trade deficit between Nepal and India.

The AGM was chaired by the president of NEA, Kumar Das Ranjit.
