Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said that the government is carrying out the national policy on the management of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Replying to the query by Supreme Court, PM Koirala has written that the policy is being implemented for the rehabilitation of the victims.
He has, however, said that there is no need to formulate a separate law/act to ensure the rights and interests of conflict victims.
In the reply, the PM has also said that the government is preparing to form a Truth and Reconciliation Commission and a Commission for Restructuring of the State as per the peace agreement.
The apex court had asked the PM to furnish written replies in response to a writ petition filed by advocate Bhoj Raj Timalsena asking for the rehabilitation and separate laws to help the IDPs and conflict victims.
