CA polls lead to new age: PM Koirala

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Wednesday has appealed the countrymen to contribute in holding constituent assembly (CA) polls in a peaceful manner and to make it a success.

Addressing the meeting of the interim parliament Wednesday afternoon, PM Koirala said that after the completion of CA Polls in November Nepal will enter into a new age.

Underlining a need of socio-economic reform for the development of country, PM Koirala said, " New revolution means social reform and economic reform that is destined to come."  PM Koirala also called on the leaders to remain ready for the transformation of the country in the near future.

PM Koirala also emphasized a need to implement different development programs for socio-economic reforms of Mountain, Hill and Terai regions with distinct budgets.

Talking about the upcoming budget, PM Koirala hoped that the budget will cover every sector. However, he has also asked the leaders not to have too much expectation from the budget.

PM Koirala also made an indirect reference to the monarchy, he said, "As Mahatma Ghandi said the British rulers will help Independence movement by feet, we are also coming close to something same."

Ram Chandra Paudel, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction read out the plan and policies of the government on behalf of PM Koirala.

The government's plan and policies presented today has expressed commitment towards national restructuring, provision of relief to the victims of conflict, increment in the salaries of the civil employees, formation of security task force to provide official security, nationalization of late King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya's properties and setting up of a trust to nationalize national parks taken up King Gynendra in his capacity as the head of state.
