According to the decision of Saturday, a top-level eight-party meeting is being held at PM’s residence at Baluwatar today afternoon to discuss the political issues ranging from the date for CA polls, amendment to the interim constitution and the module of CA poll process.

Citing the reason to need more homework, the meeting was fixed to the afternoon which was fixed morning earlier.

The eight parties had deferred the meeting for Monday after they failed to reach any consensus on Saturday.

The eight party leaders are also expected to discuss the issues including the smooth running of House proceedings, school strikes, demands of civil servants, fate of Melamchi drinking water project and demands raised by other groups.

Saturday’s meeting could not reach any consensus after the CPN-UML insisted on proportional electorate system for the CA polls.

Earlier in the morning Monday, a meeting of the CPN-UML decided to press the eight parties to fix a new date for CA poll and move ahead accordingly in a planned way.
