The Madhesi Jandhikar Forum (MJF) has issued an ultimatum to the government warning of fresh agitation if their demands were not met by August 31.
Addressing a press meet in Birgunj on Friday after the conclusion of two day central committee meeting, MJF chairman Upendra Yadav warned that if the government did not fulfill MJF's demand of fair and equal representation to all communities and sections of society in the constituent assembly, a fresh revolt would break out in Madhes.
Yadav said MJF sticks to its demand for fully Proportional Representation based election system and formation of autonomous Madhes Pradesh with right to self-determination.
Yadav also announced that MJF would hold mass meetings, torch rallies and mobilise people from September 6-8. He added that there could be no compromise on the issue of regional autonomy and the communities' right to self-determination.
The MJF has accused that government talks team was not willing to fulfill their demands.
Meanwhile, the MJF has decided to hold its second national convention in Birgunj on October 27-29.
