A bilateral meeting between Nepal and India on Indo-Nepal trade treaty kicked off in Kathmandu on Thursday. The meeting is being held at the premises of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS).

According to an official at MoICS, though the provisions included in the treaty allow automatic renewal, the meeting was organized to discuss about the possible trade constraints and solutions between two countries.

The meeting is reported to have been discussing about the bilateral efforts in enhancing the trade relationship between two countries and overall commercial scenario of both the countries since 2002.

Joint Secretary of MoICS, Purushottam Ojha is leading Nepali team. Similarly Ojha's Indian counterpart Rajeev Kher is heading five members Indian team in the meeting.

Issues like various tariffs and other barriers imposed in India for Nepalese products and increment in India’s quota for the import of Nepalese ghee are also likely to be discussed in the two day meet.
