Government of Nepal and Korea have signed an agreement on Nepali nationals' presence in Korean labor market. The agreement signed today has cleared existing doubt over sending Nepali workers to Korea.
Director general at the Department of Labour and Employment Promotion (DLEP) Keshar Bahadur Baniya, and director general at the Ministry of Labour of Korea Lee Ki-Kweon signed implementation agreement (IA) on behalf of their respective governments.
This agreement is an executing supplement to the bilateral memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on July 23 between Nepal and South Korea. The agreement has opened a way for Nepali workers for their entry in Korean labor market under employment permit system (EPS).
To apply for employment, interest candidates have to fulfill the criteria set for language skills, training institutes and their physical facilities and location. According to the rule, the trainees must take 150-hour language training on the basis of three hours a day for 50 days.
