Prachanda, chairman of the CPN (Maoist) on Saturday restating demand for four countries’ ambassadorial positions said that they won’t allow government to proceed further regarding the issue if their party’s demand is not fulfilled.
Prachanda and senior Maoist leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai talking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA) on their arrival from Switzerland on Saturday afternoon, Prachanda said his party had been claiming four missions - Denmark, South Korea, France and United Kingdom.
Prachanda said that PM Koirala had refused to compromise the UK’s position with him saying that the decision had already been taken.
“ I will meet Koirala and settle the dispute over ambassadorial nominations,” Prachanda added.
Describing his Switzerland visit as "fruitful" Prachanda said the Swiss model of federalism could be good for Nepal. During his tour, he had visited farmlands, hydropower projects and participated in interactions with the Swiss intellectuals and government officials.
Talking about King’s birthday celebration, Prachanda said that the celebration was a step toward “regression.” I will discuss with the ruling alliance leaders for removing the King by 2/3 vote of the interim parliament, he added.
Prachanda was accompanied by his deputy, Dr Baburam Bhattarai, who had joined him in Switzerland after completing his visit to Norway with few other leaders.
Dr Bhattarai said that the European community was quite positive towards his party, unlike the United States.
According to reports, Dr. Bhattarai’s attended an international conference in Oslo and had held discussions with European and US experts and government officials.
