Govt. releases New National Anthem
The goverment on Friday afternoon has released the much awaited new National Anthem of Nepal.
Speaker of the interim parliament, Subash Nemwang released the new National Anthem amidst a special function in parliament.
Addressing the function, Speaker Nemwang said that the national anthem will represent all Madhesi, Pahadi and Himalai. " A song that praises an individual or an institution can’t be the national anthem.” added Speaker Nemwang.
Pradip Kumar Rai " Byakul Maila", lyricist of the anthem, said that it was surprising to be selected from thousands of creation. “ I tried to contribute to the process of making a New Nepal," he said.
"The job provided by the government to compose music for the new National Anthem was challenging one, and I have overcome it with my experiences," said veteran musician Amber Gurung, who composed the music for the new national anthem.
The new national anthem is sung by 20 various artists.
Earlier on Wednesday, the cabinet meeting had approved tune composed by Gurung for the new National Anthem.
The national anthem written by Maila, was selected as the new National Anthem by the National Anthem Selection Task Team (NASTT) on November 30 last year.
The new National Anthem read as follows:
