Visiting US Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration, Ellen Sauerbrey has visited Beldangi-I refugee camps stationed in Jhapa district to access the information regarding third country resettlement in the US.
The US secretary along with US Ambassador Nancy Powel, UNHCR's country representative in Nepal Abraham Abraham, WFP country director in Nepal Richard Regan and Chief District Officcer (CDO) of Jhapa, Jaya Mukunda Khanal visited the office of International Organisation for Migration which is under constrcution in Damak.
According to the INS correspondent, the delegation had visited Damak-based Life Line Hospital selected as official medical centre for processing third country resettlement and the UNHCR's sub-office and World Food Program office Thursday.
Meanwhile, the team also held discussion on security situation in camps with CDO and security heads of Jhapa.
