Local administration has beefed up security in Nepalgunj targeting electoral mass gathering scheduled for tomorrow.
Chief District Officer in Banke Narendra Raj Sharma said security was tightened to avoid possible backlash taking under consideration the violent incidents occurred in Terai.
Security personals have been deployed in larger number since a week in Nepalgunj and nearby locations.
Similarly, security check has also been tightened. Deputy Superintendent of Police of Regional Police Headquarter Naresh Man Shrestha has been assigned as in-charge in the district as Superintendent of Police in Banke Ghanshyam Bhatta is absent in the district.
Youth organizations of different political parties will also help maintain security to the mass gathering to be held at Tandan Rice Mill.
As an attempt to disrupt the mass gathering, Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha led by Jwala Singh (JTMM-J) has called banda in Banke and Bardiya district.
Central leaders of seven political parties are scheduled to address the gathering.
