Agitating groups call banda in Bara and Parsa

More than half of the agitating groups in Terai region have announced two day long banda (general strike) in Bara and Persa districts of eastern Terai targeting the mass meeting of Seven Party Alliance (SPA) scheduled to be held in Birgunj on Wednesday.

Stating that joint mass gathering of the SPA organized in different parts of the country as a circus, the agitating groups announced the banda for today and tomorrow. Following the banda, vehicular movements in the districts have been halted. Similarly, educational institutions and business enterprises have also remained closed.

Issuing the separate statements in-charge of Jaya Krishna Goit led Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM-G) for Bara and Parsa districts Birat and Aagni, Platoon Commander of Terai Mukti Morcha for Bara, Parsa and Rautahat districts have warned not to disobey the banda.
