Simultaneous blasts hurt 9 in Birgunj

At least nine persons have been injured when a gang carried out four simultaneously blasts at Adarshnagar area in Birgunj Wednesday night.

A report said, three unidentified persons detonated four bombs on the premises of a branch office of NIC bank, Mahashakti Transport and Jaya Ma  Shakti Road Carrier.

The injured — Dip Kumar Gupta, Sagar Karki, Sanni Kumar Shah, Santosh Prasad, Ajaya Kumar, Manoj Raut and Surendra Raut — among others are undergoing treatment at Birgunj sub-regional hospital.

The condition of Surendra Raut is reported to be critical. A passenger bus was also damaged in the blast, said the report. 

The report also said that an Indian criminal Munna Sharma telephoned local media persons and took responsibility for the blast
