The Constituent Assembly (CA) on Sunday has approved the government's policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2065/2066.
Various parties had registered 17 amendment proposals on the government's document and two of them were withdrawn whereas other proposals were defeated by majority votes.
During the CA meeting, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' had also defended the government's policies and programmes. He said that there is no other option to identify common understanding amidst different ideologies.
Stating that the government has focused its programmes in water resource, PM 'Prachanda' said that the economic revolution is not possible without development of the water resources. He said that the government's policies and programmes will open doors of opportunities.
PM 'Prachanda' briefing about his official visit to India, said that issues of bilateral treaties and agreements will be concluded based on national consensus.
Meanwhile, PM 'Prachanda' Sunday evening left for his five-day long political visit to India. Accompanied by more than 50 other senior government officials including four ministers, and private sector representatives, PM ' Prachanda' during his visit, is scheduled to meet with Indian President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Indian premier Dr. Manmohan Singh, chief of the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Soniya Gandhi and L.K Advani, the leader of main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
