The cabinet on Tuesday has approved the government's policies and programmes to be presented at the Constituent Assembly (CA) on Wednesday.
According to the government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the policies and programmes were endorsed after accommodating 69-point suggestion by Maoists, 50-point suggestion by the UML as well as recommendations put forward by other coalition partners including Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF).
Minister Mahara informed that the approved document of policies and programmes would be of 80 to 90 points.
President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav will present the policies and programmes on behalf of the government to the CA session on Wednesday.
According to approved document of the policies and programmes, the government’s top priority will be to bring the peace process to a logical end, write new democratic and federal constitution on time and bring about socio-economic transformation, among others.
