Former American president Jimmy Carter stressed on the immediate holding of the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.
Meeting with Secretary General of CPN-UML upon his arrival at International Airport in Nepal's capital Kathmandu today, carter also expressed disappointment over the suspension of the CA elections. Carter also stressed on the need of continuation of seven party unity.
Carter who is in Nepal in four day visit will hold discussions with the representatives of several strata on Nepal's latest political situation, peace process and Carter Center's assistance to Nepal's ongoing peace process.
Carter arrived Kathmandu today in Thai Airways. During his stay in Nepal, Carter will meet with government officials, leaders of political parties, officials of Election Commission, leaders of civic-society and the representatives of marginalized communities.
