PM receives the credentials with Chinese Ambassador

Breaking the tradition of receiving the credentials of foreign envoys by the King, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala Thursday received the credentials of newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Zen Xian Ling.

Ling, who replaces Ambassador Sun Heping, presented his credentials to the Prime Minister at the State Hall in Singha Durbar in the afternoon.

The Chinese ambassador received guard of honour by the Nepal Army after presenting his credentials.
The erstwhile seven-party alliance government had decided to do away with the tradition of receiving the credentials of ambassadors by the King.
