Two alleged poachers arrested

Officials of Chitwan National Park (CNP) have arrested two armed individuals from park area on charge of poaching and smuggling rhino horns.

The CNP official informed media persons that Rana Bahadur Kumal of Meghauli-3 and Hom Bahadur Lama of Tamaspur were arrested two weeks back from the house of Santa Kumal with bullets, explosives materials and a motorcycle.

According to Megh Bahadur Pandey, protection officer at CNP, both of them were also arrested on similar cases earlier.

Lama who was sentenced to 15 year jail was set free after Heatuda Appellate Court gave him clean chit in 2004.  Even after being released, Lama has been involving in rhino-horn smuggling, the official claimed.
