CPN- Maoist has agreed to endorse the number of eligible Maoist army reported by United Nations Mission In Nepal (UNMIN) through the final phase of verification.

The UNMIN has reported that only 19, 0602 combatants were found to be eligible. The Maoist agreed to endorse this number in a meeting of Joint Monitoring Coordination Committee (JMCC) comprising the representatives of the government, the CPN-Maoist and UNMIN held this morning.

The number of eligible combatants was published by UNMIN last week. The Maoist had been denying the report accusing that the UNMIN carried out the report single-handedly.

Maoist Deputy Commander Baldev said the Maoist would forward the names of the combatants who were missed in the verifications. Total 31,318 combatants had been verified in the first phase of verification.
