After facing a huge defeat in the Constituent Assembly (CA) poll, the Communist Party of Nepal - Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) on Wednesday has pulled out from the government.
All 7 ministers representing UML in the coalition government has submitted their resignation to the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at latter's official residence in Baluwater.
UML decided to quit the government honouring the people’s mandate to the CPN-Maoists to lead the government, said a report.
The joint resignation was signed by minister of foreign affairs Sahana Pradhan, minister for tourism and civil aviation Prithvi Subba Gurung, minister for agriculture and cooperatives Chhabilal Biswakarma, minister for general administration Ram Chandra Yadav, minister of education and sports Pradeep Nepal, state ministers Mohan Singh Rathour and Nagendra Prasad Chaudhary.
Though, the PM Koirala has not approved their resignation yet.
Earlier today, top UML leaders had met with PM Koirala to discuss about the poll results. They had also discussed about the formation of Constituent Assembly (CA).
