Maoists torch govt. offices

Cadres of Communist Party of Nepal -Maoist (CPN-M) have torched District Land Revenue Office and the office of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in Tulsipur Chowk in Dang district Wednesday afternoon.

At least 10 persons were injured and 30 others arrested after Maoist cadres clashed with the police personnel in the incident.

According to police, a clash ensued after the Maoist cadres burnt government offices and pelted stones at police team. 

Five policemen and five Maoist cadres were injured in the clash, district police office, Dang said adding police also arrested 30 Maoist cadres after the incident. Five Maoist cadres were also injured in the clash.

According to eyewitnesses, the Maoist cadres, who were returning from the district administration office after submitting a memorandum to the chief district officer started vandalism at the land reform office. Most of the documents and furniture of the office were completely damaged in the Maoist attack, police said.
