The Government of Denmark has provided an additional aid of approximately Rs 118.9 million to the Nepal Peace Trust Fund (NPTF) as a support for preparation for forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) polls slated for November 22.

The additional fund is provided under the agreement between the two governments on April 4th 2007. Denmark has already provided the initial support of Rs 120 million for the preparations of CA polls.

The Ministry of Finance has already handed over the initial support of Rs 120 million to the Election Commissions for the same purpose, said a press release issued by the Embassy of Denmark.

“The Government of Denmark finds the coming Constituent Assembly Elections crucial for the creation of peace in Nepal and the creation of a new Nepal,” said the press release, adding, “This election is not a normal election, but an instrument to create peace and unity and to create a Constitutional Assembly that can make a foundation for the new Nepal.”
