The Election Commission has said it would need at least Rs. two billion to hold Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in stipulated date.
Chief Election Commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokhrel informed about the budged required to EC for holding the CA elections in a meeting with representatives of donor communities of Nepal in EC office.
In the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Pokhrel also said security situation in the Terai districts was improving in recent days. He also urged all sides to continue support for holding the election in a peaceful manner.
The representatives of the donor community had expressed their readiness to support the Nepal government and the EC in holding the constituent assembly elections, stressing that elections are essential for establishing peace and stability in Nepal.
