EC urges ministers not to misuse facilities during CA polls

Election Commission has urged ministers not to misuse the facilities during the Constituent Assembly (CA). Chief Election Commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokhrel made this request to the ministers in a meeting held this morning.

The EC held discussions with the ministers for the preparation of the CA elections. Commissioner Pokhrel also urged ministers to instruct their party activists to be patient and tolerant. He also informed them that the security arrangements have already been made for the candidates. The EC has recommended for the formation multi-party mechanism.

Though the EC had invited all the ministers, a few ministers were present in the meeting. In the meeting some of the ministers are learnt to have expressed complain that the elections acts were not comprehensive.

Finance Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat and Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Matrika Yadav had suggested that secretaries should not be mobilized for monitoring. Peace and Reconstruction Minister Ram Chandra Paudel and Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula were absent in the meeting.
