The government of Japan has provided books to the central library of Tribhuvan University under library support program of Japan foundation.
Tsutomu Hiraoka, Ambassador of Japan handed over those books to the university amidst a function on Wednesday. The books handed over to the university are related to history, culture, economics and politics.
Speaking at the function ambassador Hiraoka expected that the books would help professors, students and researchers.
The government of Japan has extended a cultural grant for the Supply of Microfilm and Book Binding Equipment to the TU Central Library in 2002 to preserve the historic materials through microfilms.
On the occasion, Michihiro Narita, lecturer of Japanese History at the Campus of International Languages of Tribhuvan University had delivered a lecture on Japan-Nepal Historical Relations through Buddhism and Sanskrit to mark the golden jubilee of Japan-Nepal diplomatic relations.
