Paving way for Nepali job aspirants in Korean labor market, Nepal and Korea inked final agreement on Friday.
South Korean Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) chief Kim-Young-Dal and Keshar Bahadur Baniya, director general of EPS division under the Ministry of Labor and Transport Management (MoLTM) signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments.
Now, job aspirants will have to appear Korean language examination to be held from last week of February to first week of March.
HRDC chief Kim-Young-Dal said Nepali candidates need to pass the language test and should know the local culture and related legal provision of Korea. He also informed that job aspirants have to secure minimum 60 marks in 200 marks to pass the test in which oral needs 25 percent and handwriting needs 25 percent.
According to the agreement, South Korean government will take Korean Language Proficiency Test (KLPT) and Nepal government will help conduct the exam. The government is planning to give management contract to hold KLPT exam to Tribhuvan University. The exam fee will be $30 (around Rs 2000).
HRDC chief also informed that copy will be checked through computer system and result will be announced within a week of examination.
HRDC chief Kim-Young-Dal said the salary of workers will be 900 US dollar per month.
Secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Transport Management Shyam Prasad Mainali said total expenditure of job aspirants does not cross Rs. 1, 25,000.
