Inclusive team of women climbs the Mt. Everest

Five Members of First Inclusive Women Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha) Expedition 2008 climbed Mt Everest today morning. The team successfully climbed the Mt Everest, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Susmita Maskey heads the expedition team. The members of the team who reached Mt. Everest today include Susmita Maskey, Maya Gurung, Nwang Phuti Sherpa, Pemba Diki Sherpa and Poojan Acharya among the 10 members.

Five High Altitude Workers from the team: Pemba Dorje Sherpa, Kaji Sherpa, Phurba Tenzing Sherpa, Ang Gelu Sherpa and Karma Gyelije Sherpa also summitted the peak along with the team. Other members of the team Nim Doma Sherpa, Usha Bista, Shaili Basnet, Asha Kumari Singh and Chunu Shrestha are due to reach the destination.

The 10 Inclusive Women Members First Inclusive Women Sagarmatha Expedition 2008 Team was permitted to climb the Mt Everest from Normal Route for the period of 75 days from April 16, 2008. The Government of Nepal had waived all royalties equivalent to $ 100,000 and had granted financial assistance of Rs 10,00,000 to the team.
