District Court Dolakha has announced jail term for five years to thirty years old Pemba Sherpa, a resident of Khorthali Village Development Committee in Sindhupalchok district convicting his involvement in fake currency transaction.

A single bench of District Court Justice Rameshwar Amatya announced the verdict hearing a case registered by a government lawyer Shivaraj Upadhya claiming ten years jail term to Sherpa.

Convicted Pemba was arrested while he was fleeing to Kathmandu after buying 30 grams of gold with fake Nepali currency on March 11.

69 notes of one thousand rupees paid by Pemba to Jitendra Rijal were proved to be fake.
