Govt. to release Rs. 3 m to fire victims

The government is to allocate Rs. 3 million to provide compensatory relief to the fire victim Bhutanese refugees being camped in Goldhup of Jhapa district in eastern Nepal.

Talking to the media persons after site visit, home minister Situala said the government would provide the sum at the earliest. He also appealed national and international organizations to assist the victims.

1305 huts of the refugee camps have been completely burnt leaving more than nine thousand Bhutanese refugees displaced. The fire had expanded in the huts of Block A,B and C after a hut abruptly caught the fire yesterday evening.  The fire that erupted at around 6:30 pm was extinguished at around 9:30 with the help of four fire truck, and local people. 

Meanwhile, refugee leader Tek Nath Rijal has appealed different organizations for assistance to the victims.
