Shiv Shankar Mukharjee, Indian ambassador to Nepal Tuesday met with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at latter's officail residense in Baluwater and discussed the issues of the security and the inundation in the Terai.
According to report, during the meeting, Mukharjee also assured PM to provide Indian support for holding constituent assembly (CA) polls in Nepal.
PM Koirala and Mukharjee discussed the bilateral issues of the inundation problem in terai districts and criminal activities along the Indo-Nepal border among others.The duo focused for joint efforts to curb criminal activities along the border, said reports.
Bihar chief minister on Monday had asked PM Man Mohan Singh to hold talks with the Nepal government to solve the flood problem in Bihar caused by the rivers from Nepal.
In the mean time, Nepali member of interim parliament have been raising concern that Terai districts were inundated during the recent rains due to the embankments constructed by the Indian government along the border.
India has built a number of embankments along the Indo-Nepal border to control floods in Bihar.
