Following Nepal's request with the Indian government for the smooth supply of petroleum products, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) - has increased supply of fossil fuel to Nepal.
According to reports, the Indian supplier issued 2,100 kiloliters (KL) of petroleum products on Thursday and 1,500 KL of fuel on Friday for Nepal. The Supplies Ministry has already instructed NOC to distribute as much fuel as it receives in a bid to ease the crisis within a week.
An official at NOC said that NOC distributed 180 KL of petrol in the valley on Friday. Of that, 132 KL was distributed from the Thankot depot and the remaining 48 KL from Amlekhgunj.
The majority of the supply was made to the private dealers in various parts of the valley so that people need not travel around the city to get hold of petrol.
