Eight party meet once YCL stops unruly activities: PM

At a time when eight parties fail to hold meeting to decide on the crucial political agendas for a long time, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has remained stick with his stance that eight party meeting wouldn’t be held until Maoist’s youth wing Young Communist League (YCL) stops its unruly activities.

Prime Minister said this on Tuesday during the meet with Maoist chairman Prachanda and second-in-command Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.

PM Koirala and Maoist leaders held talks at former’s official residence Baluwatar on current political affairs, obstacles and way-outs.

According to the sources, the discussions were focused mainly on calling an eight-party meet to discuss and decide on political issues including the date for CA polls, king’s future, and management of Maoist camps among others.

PM is learnt to have shown his concern with the Maoist leadership about the YCL’s unruly activities stating that eight party meeting wouldn’t be held until they stop such activities.

The Maoist leaders sought quick and honest implementation of the decisions taken by the government on Monday regarding the management of Maoist camps.

The top Maoist leaders were accompanied by another Maoist leader and Minister for Information and Communication Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

NC leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala and Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula were also present in the meeting.
