Breaking its all past high records, the price of gold this week escalated up to Rs Rs 29,600 per tola (11.664 grams), which is Rs 25,380 per 10 gram.
The trading of the precious yellow metal was closed at Rs 23,835 per 10 grams on Friday last week. On Sunday it opened at Rs 27,900 (23,900 per 10 gram), whereas on Monday it deceased by Rs 47 to cost Rs 27,853 per tola. The price again surged and the gold was traded at Rs 28,401 and Rs 29,160 per tola on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
On Thursday the gold gained Rs 440 per tola overnight. It was traded at Rs 29,600 (Rs 25,380 per 10 gram) in the local market. Similarly, silver was traded for Rs 360 per 10 gram on Thursday.
Reports said that the price of gold has risen due to weak Nepali currency against the US dollar and international gold price. It was traded at US$ 979.30 per troy ounce in the international market. Last week, it had traded at US$ 941.
The gold on Friday came down by Rs 200. It has been traded at Rs 29,400 per tola (Rs 25,205 per 10 gram). Likewise the silver was traded at Rs 419 per tola (Rs 360 per 10 gram).
