Police on Saturday morning has detained six persons from Rautahat district headquarters Gaur and Sirsiya village on suspicions of having being involved in Wednesday's deadly Maoist-Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) clash that claimed 28 lives.
The police had made the arrests during a series of house to house searches this morning, district police office, Rautahat said.
According to the Rautahat District Police Office, the arrested are Raghunath Mahato, Ram Janam Das, Binod Raut, Babloo Raut, Lalbabu Paswan and Oyanath Raut.
According to reports, police activity has been intensified following a meeting of the district security council which had decided to tighten security and intensify search for those responsible for the massacre at Gaur's Rice Mills area three days ago.
However, it is believed that most of those suspected of being involved in the incident have most likely fled to India.
Meanwhile, the site of the massacre, Gaur, has still not regained normalcy.Most shops continue to remain closed with very few vehicles plying the streets and very few people venturing out of their homes, our correspondent said.
