The government on Sunday, has agreed to increase the salary of civil servants from the upcoming fiscal year.

During the ongoing talks between the government and the agitating government employees at the peace ministry Sunday morning, the government has also expressed commitment to grant trade union rights to government employees till section officers’ level.

Ram Chandra Paudel, Minster for Peace and reconstruction and the representatives from all the three agitating Civil Service organizations were present in the talks that began at 8 in this morning.

However, it has not been made clear about the increment amount and the skills development programmes for the employees.

The commission formed to review the salary of government employees had suggested the government to double the pay scale.

The government employees however, have said that they will continue with their protest programs.

The agitating Civil Servicemen have been agitating since the last one-month demanding the immediate implementation of the Civil Service act with Trade Union Rights.
