Health institutes closed in Siraha

All kinds of health services in Siraha district of eastern terai remained closed in the second consecutive day of the strike called by health workers. The health workers have called closure of health services demanding guarantee of their security.

Stating that the Chief District Officer Balkrishna Panthi failed to take action against those involved in vandalizing district hospital, the health workers have halted all services except emergency service at all hospitals in the district.

The district working committee of Nepal Health Activists Union has stated that the health facilities would be halted until Wednesday.

Locals and relatives of a child who died at the hospital on December 13 had vandalized the clinic of the doctors including the hospital.
