US Under Secretary of State for Management Henrietta H. Fore arrived in Kathmandu on Friday for a two-day visit. Talking to the journalist in brief after her arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Fore said she was in Nepal to express American support to the stabilizing political situation of Nepal.
Fore is the seniormost official of the US administration to visit Nepal since the April movement. During two day visit, she will confer with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and also meet political leaders, officials, business executives, and women alumni of U.S. exchange program, according to US Embassy, Kathmandu.
She will also inspect the new U.S. Embassy building at Maharajgunj and review plans to open it this summer, stated the press release. Fore is responsible for the people, resources, facilities, technology, and security of the Department of State, and is principal advisor on management issues to the Secretary of State.
