The bill regarding arms and ammunition control has been forwarded to the parliamentary committee for discussions. The bill tabled by Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula before today’s session of Interim Legislature parliament was forwarded to the concerned committee for discussions.

The government has brought the bill in a bid to control escalating incidents of crime and use of illegal arms across the country, especially in Terai. Earlier in morning, Minister Sitaula had briefed the cabinet about the execution of Special Task Force (STF) strategies in Terai.

Today’s session ended shortly after it resumed. Speaker Subas Chandra Nemwang announced the ending of the session of the interim parliament minutes after it began.

The House session was suspended to initiate talks with the Madhesi parliamentarians who resigned from their positions on Monday.

Speaker Nemwang has called the next session of the House on Thursday, 11 a.m.
