International Human Rights Day is being observed throughout the world. In Nepal also, different organizations working in human rights have organized different programs to mark the day.
Delivering a message on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said Nepal which faced the dire situation of human rights violation has already entered into a new democratic system.
The PM has also appealed people of all strata for their contribution in constructing healthy and fair society eradicating all kinds of discrimination, exploitation, atrocities and injustice. Prime Minister Koirala further said construction of new society and culture was only possible when human rights were respected.
December 10 is marked as International Human Rights Day worldwide after General Assembly of United Nations adopted Universal Declaration of Human rights in on December 10, 1948.
