Deposit in Simikot branch of Rastriya Banijya Bank goes dry

Consumers have been hit hard in Simikot as the deposits in Simikot branch of Rastriya Banijya Bank (National Commercial Bank) has gone dry for more than three weeks. With having no deposits, the bank has been unable to pay withdrawer government offices for monthly salary.
 
Daily official activities have been affected due to the unavailability of money. The civil servants, employees of government and teachers serving in the government schools who have arrived district headquarter of Humla have been stranded as they could not receive the salary.
 
Acting manager of the bank Niraj Jha said there was no deposit in the bank for the last three weeks stating that he had no idea when it would be deposited. The bank is only exchanging the checks amounting to five hundred.
