Construction works of Middle Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project in Lamjung, which was halted following fuel shortage since September 4, has resumed from Monday morning.
According to the Independent News Service (INS), the construction process was carried out after fuel was brought from Amlekhgunj.
The 70MW power Middle Marsyangdi project launched in 2001 has faced frequent disturbances in works due to variations in design and strikes following trade union disputes. The project was to complete in 2004.
The German Development Bank has provided 161million euros for the project, which has a German consultant firm, Fischtner Joint Venture, and a German civil works contractor, DDC-JV.
Middle Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project is the only major hydropower under construction in Nepal.
