Indian government has pleaded NRs.27.8 million to construct new school building of Shree Chandeshwari Secondary School of Dadhi Guranse VDC in Sindhuli district. Pranay Verma, Counsellor (Economic Cooperation) of the Indian embassy on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of the school building.
A press release issued by the Indian embassy said the project is being implemented by the District Development Committee, Sindhuli and an oversight committee consisting of representatives of DDC, District Education Office and the school management has been constituted to ensure community participation in overseeing the project for its effective and timely implementation.
Speaking on the occasion, Counsellor Verma underscored the importance of the economic cooperation programme as a cornerstone of India-Nepal relations. He also highlighted the importance of educational infrastructure at the grassroots level for Nepal's overall development, the release said.
India has been implementing two kinds of development projects in district Sindhuli in recent years. India has been implementing more than 265 large and small projects under the India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme in the sectors of education, health, community development and infrastructure covering all the districts of Nepal with an outlay of over NRs.21 billions.
