Entrepreneurs close down Birgunj

Protesting a murder of Ajaya Chaurasiya, an employee at a showroom on Monday and government’s inability to provide security to the business community, industrialists have closed down the southern commercial town of Birgunj on Tuesday.

Marketplaces, industries, transportation services and educational institutions have been closed due to the agitation.

An unidentified gang had shot dead Chaurasiya at the Sonalika Tractor showroom, where he worked, at Adarsha Nagar of Birgunj Monday afternoon. Three others including the owner of the showroom were injured in the indiscriminate firing.

The entrepreneurs and industrialists have demanded that the government create a secure environment for businesses and take stern action against the murderers.
