Parties nominate Ministers

Long awaited interim government is to be officially formed Saturday inducting Maoists, former rebels who fought against the 'old regime' in their term for more than 10 years, as a part of the state. The interim government being formed after long brainstorming among the top brass will be led by Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala as Prime Minister.

In new government Nepali Congress, UML and Maoists have gained five ministerial portfolios each, NC-Democratic three and People's Front (PF), United Leftist Front (ULF) and Nepal Sadbhavana Party – Anandidevi (NSP-A) have bagged one ministerial portfolio each.

The CPN-UML has decided to send a team led by senior leader Sahana Pradhan to a new interim government to be formed today. Likewise, Pradip Nepal will be Minister for Education and Sports, Prithvi Subba Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Chabilal Biswokarma Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ram Chandra Yadav Minister for General Administration and Mohan Singh Rathor State minister for Education and Sports.

CPN-Maoist has selected Krishna Bahadur Mahara, party spokesperson to be inducted as Minister for Information and Communication, Dev Gurung as minister for Local Development; Hisila Yami as minister for Physical Planning and Works, Matrika Yadav as minister for Forest and Soil Conservation, and Khadga Bahadur Biswokarma as the Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare.

NSP-A has also decided names for the cabinet. It will send Rajendra Mahato in the interim government as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply while United Left Front selected Jagat Bahadur Bogati to represent the Front in the government as Minister for Land Reform.

The names from NC are yet to come. NC Democratic has decided to send Ramesh Lekhak to the ministry of Labor and names for other two ministries and a state minister is yet to be disclosed.
